Fidel Castro has given his power over to his younger (yet still old) brother Raul. I wonder if Raul is as staunchly communist as Fidel, or if he will start making changes towards a democratic Cuba, which could lift the export ban.
If Fidel dies, Raul may not be entitled to the presidency, with power then being given to someone else. Hopefully, if and when that happens, there will be a democratic vote and the beginning stages of a Cuban democracy will be put in place.
One can only hope, not only for the future of US-Cuban relations, but for the people of Cuba as well.
